Javad was born in Iran and now lives and works in Barcelona. His practice is rooted entirely in analog photography, a choice that is less a technical decision than a philosophical one. Every frame of film carries a kind of suspended time, an image that exists but cannot yet be seen, hovering between experience and memory. The interval before development is not a limitation but the condition that makes his work meaningful.

Growing up within a culture and a family that found meaning in ordinary moments, he learned early to pay attention to what others tend to overlook: unremarkable light, quiet gestures, the silence that gathers between people. This attentiveness remains the engine of his image-making.

In recent years, his curiosity has drawn him toward experimental processes, where chance and material instability become part of the work. He approaches these not as techniques to master but as conversations to enter.

His work does not attempt to record the world so much as to remember it, tenderly and imperfectly, the way people do.

His passion goes beyond photography. He spent two years teaching Art and Photography full-time to students from disadvantaged rural areas and one of the top high schools in his hometown. Beyond the joy and fulfilment of fostering creativity and education, his students achieved remarkable success by creating original and distinctive artworks.

These two years became some of the most transformative of his life, a period during which he learned far more than he taught. His outlook on life underwent a profound evolution, and the experience left a lasting impression on both his character and creative vision.
